"no spark" on a I-72 McCulloch chain saw?
The ignition looks like the old conventional lawn mower type magneto ignition. no spark at the plug. I suspect it could be the on off switch but it has a good healthy click to it. Does this machine have points.? Bruce
A-Best: you best take it apart to see whats up. take the kill wire off the coil and spin it. if no spark and no obvious damage see if there is a wire that goes under the flywheel if so it has points. either pull the flywheel and do the points or buy a "chip" from most any chainsaw/lawn mower place that takes the place of the points. a clever circuit it is that senses the position of the flywheel from the current going through it and "opens" at the right cadence. they cost from like 30-50$ i think.
A: Just because it has a good CLICK doesn't mean the switch is good take the body off and check the contacts inside to see if they need cleaning.
